Comments, ratings appreciated on Bryce Canyon Shot. While I realize

this isn't the most creative photo, I thought it turned out rather

nice. One morning I shot three rolls of Velvia on my Hassy, and plan

to print a few of these at 20x20. Thanks for your comments.

I've been to Bryce a few times and it seems much redder than it should be (of course, in early morning or late evening it might be). If I could suggest .... crop out the top portion of the photo, it doesn't really add anything to the picture, and add some brightness to the photo, it might make the hoodoos stand out better.

Carlos, thanks for your comment. This was taken just as the sun was rising into the canyon--there was some clouds/haze so the light was really warm. This is taken on Velvia, which tends to supersaturate the colors. As for the sky, I don't really like it, but I'm not sure I like this better with it cropped. I'll have to think about it. The colors here were not adjusted in PS. Thanks for your comment. I really like your Antelope Canyon shots.

I like the composition in your Bryce Canyon photos, but I'm having trouble with the red color. You can probably do a color shift in PS to make it a little more realistic.

The three very reddish ones were shot just as the sun was breaking into the canyon. The sky to the was quite red--see another photo in this folder. I underexposed Velvia about a half a stop oversaturate. Yes, I could easily tone done the color in PS, but I like this the way it is. And for the record, I've have probably three books on my shelf with Bryce Canyon shots that are as red as this. I actually prefer the other shot similar to this one in the portfolio probably taken 5 minutes later and little less red. Thanks for your comment. I enjoyed perusing your portfolio.

Robert, you have some really nice Bryce views in the folder. Wonderfully clear and rich images. You've exposed well for the glow of morning light in Bryce. I understand what people say about the color here a little bit, though I'm sure that the jpeg is a reasonably close approximation of the velveeta on the light table. I think you probably did a couple of your most creative shots on the 10D, but I find most of the folder very fine indeed. Enjoy.
