Wouter Willemse 851 Posted July 13, 2013 A short note given the critique I wrote on this other photo, Michael - it's in no way meant to cut this photo short. Visually, this one poses a completely different challenge, transmits a different message. But to me, there is a lot of effectiveness in this photo in using the pier as leading lines into the photo, drawing me, as a viewer inside.From there on, it's a whirlwind of impressions, ideas that open up. It's a fascinating photo, a bit like a daimond catching light it'll reveal something else when you look at it from a different angle. It's highly effective at that. My only point with it - but this could well be just me - is the colours; the orange/blue tints are quite hefty and outspoken, and while this adds a lot of impact, I also notice it tends to 'wear me out' more when looking at this photo for a longer time.
