Would love critique on this image. I am thinking that my DOF should have

been more shallow, but would love any other ideas on how to make this

image really stand out.

I like this...for me an image communicates a story...it is different for every viewer but none the less it is a moment captured in time that speaks volumes for those who dare to listen with their eyes...this image is wonderful and I'm sure will be a treasure for this lovely bride for the rest of her life...the expressions are just priceless...wonderful setting...great natural lighting.  My only negative comment is that the tree limb is just a bit distracting...not sure what you could have done here but it would have been nice if it were higher in the frame...nicely captured.

as  said, the subject's expressions and body language are endearing (boots another story :)  but the space, house on the left seems distracting, and unnecessary - might as well center the main bridal party- dof is fine, so that surroundings are also part of the "memory"  . Branch doesn't bother us. Nice shot.

Jenny,

J. Kilgo has said it much more eloquently than I ever could! You know, "A picture can say a thousand words!" and this one does just that, and more!

I don't necessarily find the overhanging branches such an intrusion, but I do wonder what the overall result and feel of the photograph could have been if the young Ladies would have been farther out in the lawn, providing more distance between them and the house of the background.

Regards always,

Jim j.

Lose (crop) some of the left side (edge), the house extension; thereby centring the whole thing more.

Cheers,
Drew
