Cedars & Redwoods

A 5-shot blend of cedars and redwoods in the Stout Grove of the

Redwoods National Park in northern California. Your comments and

My comments on your other image from this forest stand for this image as well - except I liked the ferns being in the other one.

Dave, thanks for your comment.  I was taken in by the unique bark on the center tree and by the process of stacking, and the compositional importance of the ferns was lost on me at the time.  I agree that the ferns make a difference in the overall photograph.

I am always taken by the beauty of these stands and just as perplexed in how to express my visual feelings about what I see. I'm not always successful and even when I am, it seems that others do not feel the same. Anyway, Stephen, these are pure visual delights.

Leo, thanks.  On this outing, I was "constrained" by having just two modest telephoto lenses.  Having to make that work may have been a blessing.
