I like the angle you chose to shoot this scene, right down the tracks. That motion blurred car gives the feeling that a train is right around the bend and the driver darted across the tracks just in time.

Lanny,  I like the image, especially the lines of the tracks.  I'd copy the image and eliminate the car and the tank on the left.  I think they may interfere with the image some.  Of course, it's what you think that matters.  I look to you for interesting and simple urban images.  You are really good at this.   Happy summer.   Larry

Thanks, guys.  This is strictly documentary, except for two or thee pieces of paper trash which I cloned out.  I did select this one out of several shots in a row because it shows the vehicle in motion.  That is a busy street--North Main Street, in fact.  I can hear the sound of the tires crossing the track as I sit here months later.

This was shot in February, 2012, after dark.  The old mill (sticking up in the back) burned this past January.

Things change so fast.  I just want to remember them the way they were.

The tight curves slow the trains to less that ten miles per hour--right behind me is the mainline from New York and D.C. to Atlanta and New Orleans and points in between and beyond.  The line shown is coming into it, forming a "Y" of curved tracks to feed into that mainline.  This line itself is a very substantial line coming in from Asheville, North Carolina, far to the west in the mountains.

This is shot from just inside the "Y" of tracks as two major rail lines join here at "Yadkin Junction."

The old freight depot in the Google satellite view is also gone now, destroyed by the railroad (Northfolk and Southern) about a year ago. The mill sticking up in the background burned this past January--seems years ago somehow.

If I had known when I shot this that two major landmarks visible from this location would be gone in short order, I would have shot many more photos of this entire area.

I know that change is inevitable, but sometimes I cannot accept it.

I'm enjoying these urban shots of yours. The moving vehicle is nice. I like the tanks as well; a nice Southern small town scene.

I liked the same things as Jack and you can add the delicate sky plus the two silvery objects on the left which seem to mimic the color of the car.
