Wow  Laurent, a great shot without the shadow, but the shadow adds an almost surreal quality. The variety of the skies in your area is amazing, well worth the hard winters? I hope this is printed large and hung on your wall. Congratulations on an excellent shot, best wishes William.

I had second thoughts about posting this, not because of the shadow but for the clutter of power poles, buildings and cars which distracted from the good light and sky.I thank you for the so kind appreciation. And yes,we do have good skies here and it does feel good to be finally out of winter.

I love the effect that very wide angle lenses can produce. Normally it is a faux pas to include the photographer's shadow (or image) in the image itself, but here I think it works very well. I think it adds interest to an otherwise somewhat monochrome and uninteresting foreground.

I agree with you on all counts.I really like to shoot with this,my favorite lense for its effects, distortion and all.As I mentioned to William above,I had hesitations due to the lower part of the image, but where self-shadows are normally avoided this was about the shadow and I am glad that you appreciate.Thank you kindly for commenting.

Laurent, I have same photo idea , my husband and I were the models, I took it like one month ago, but mine has not the great sky you have here.

I like this  photo, great idea right?

Warm regards,

LuDa

This did not start out with the intention of having the self-shadow in the final image. The long street was to lead the eyes to the good sky,but when I looked at the distracting clutter of buildings and powerlines,I decided to leave the shadow in to pick up the interest. The low setting sun made me grow very tall!I am glad this caught your eye and I thank you for commenting. It is a way to include shadows that we normally try to avoid;I am sure your image must be just as interesting.
