On June 9th, we visited one of my favorite Garden Centres. When I

walked into the Nursery, the most beautiful Lilies greeted me!!! They

were the vibrant pinks of the Rubrum but their blossoms were so

much larger. The stamens were the biggest I have ever seen. I

posted another Lily a few images ago, and these were much bigger. I

tried to get a number of images of just the Stamens. This Oriental

Lily is called 'After Eight'. I just may go back and purchase one. They

truly were a spectacular showing of color. (Posted under Macro (put

a very light texture on the background) any visits and comments are

always appreciated, many thanks, Gail)

It astonishing! Great details, well seen over soft background!

Also, thank you for stopping by at my site, Grigoriy.

Hi Gail,

You are improving on the use of the Canon 100mm F/2.8 macro lens.

The details revealed are as good as the lens can provide, as F/2.8 is the best setting here ,especially for the Canon T4i.

The higher level of available light provided you a shutter speed of 1/800 second which is plenty for a hand held shot with this focal length. The low ISO also helps in the development of the colors obtained.

The result is a beautiful image.

A++ for my student.

Warmest Regards, Mike

I finally feel really good about a Macro. The two Stamens in the front and the were so sharp. I was getting really frustrated that day, if you recall my lower back was very sore, but I was determined not to use my Monopod. Thank you for the encouraging remarks Mike, they do bolster my confidence.

with sincere appreciation, Gail

From the thumbnail to large all I can see is a Praying Mantis.  But then, I have a warped eye ;-).  Excellent work...  Mike
