Wonderful composition.  I like the very black drawing pencil as emphasis right in the middle of the image - it makes a good transition between the artist's hand and the drawing.

I agree with Mike, so many drawing books have you start out with the human hand, reminded me so much of when I practiced that years ago. Excellent POV for this image.
