Before the Punjabi wedding, the elderly ladies of the groom’s family

visit the bride and offer her jewelry and make-up material,

traditionally forbidden for the unmarried girls. They also offer Chuni,

a 2 meter long scarf used to cover the head, symbolic of the honor

of the groom’s family.
