kombizz 15 Posted June 19, 2013 I am not sure if you scan this image from a printed photo or not? Need to remove the clear (whitish) line from her right side of her face and the area near to that. Link to comment
sideris 0 Posted June 19, 2013 This photo is scanned straight from the 35mm negative film, I was aware of the white line, a scratch on the film, but for some strange reason (that I can't explain to myself yet) I didn't remove it. Anyway, thank you very much for your comment and your time. Link to comment
avitalmontaguslonim 0 Posted June 19, 2013 The scratch doesnt bother me in this shot, it adds some charm, some authenticity. I find these kind of shots so much more interesting and memorable than "perfect" digital sharp focused ones. Of course "good quality" and focus are important and needed, but for some shots, as this one, I strongly feel if it had not these "flaws" some magic would be gone as well. Link to comment
sideris 0 Posted June 20, 2013 Your words are quite flattering to me. I appreciate it a lot, because you got the concept. Why? because this image is a paradigm for me.In my mind perfection doesn't exists, and beauty outcrops from imperfections and defects, simple things and gestures. That's the human nature, and my efforts aims to this Utopia, to reflect as we are indeed.Dirty, scratched, noisy and naturally weak. Thanks again. human images 4 Posted July 16, 2013 Avital’s observations are on the money Carlos, and I appreciate you avoiding any effort at manicure and keeping the shot real. It’s often the right approach in post-processing to let the atmosphere of the scene guide you, to respect the original and to leave it alone --- frank and intimate, and spontaneous, and quite beautiful all around, reminds of the Italian neorealism look of the fifties. as for human beings being… ‘Dirty, scratched, noisy and naturally weak.’ Yes, to an extent, but don't we also see, everyday, the purity of angels in the eyes of a child, or witness displays of selfless love, or are inspired by great demonstrations of courage... So lighten up my brother ;-) Link to comment
sideris 0 Posted July 18, 2013 Thank you for your comment, especially interesting when you say "...to an extent, but don't we also see, everyday, the purity of angels in the eyes of a child, or witness displays of selfless love, or are inspired by great demonstrations of courage... "You know, the contrast between the "dirty, scratched, noisy and naturally weak" (cruel and stupid also), and the luminous capability of generosity, intelligence, courage, and love, is the characteristic what makes the humans so extraordinary and singular beings.Imperfect and contradictory, capable of the best, and also the worst. Which other subject than a human could be more interesting for a photographer? Thanks again Carlos.. Link to comment
jorge_fernandez3 1 Posted November 14, 2013 I was enjoying your new images when I notice this one on the side...from the thumb nail I found it interesting as I read the comments I realized it resonates with me at a high level, humans are facsinating to me in many ways. Congrats. Link to comment
