pnital 36 Posted June 18, 2013 This is a story which happened about 2 weeks ago.Our last day in Venice, near our hotel was(there is) a very beautiful catholic church, We haves seen many people very nicely dressed, and understood there is going to be a marriage ceremonyThe priest was standing outside with his beautiful outfit. Starting to talk with him he answered us in Hebrewtelling us that he was 2 years in Israel He invited us to participate in the ceremony ..! so here is my story and the beautiful ceremony, that for me was the first time to see and photograph a Christian marriage. Thanks for viewing. Link to comment
Bill J Boyd 64,818 Posted June 18, 2013 Lovely image and story. That appears to be a beautiful church and I would love to see what it looks like inside. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted June 19, 2013 They look like children. All three, including the priest. The fathers in the back seem so prayerful, yet so resigned. I'd be interested to hear your impressions. These opulent "high church" weddings are much different than the homespun Baptist weddings I attended every other weekend between ages 20 and 30. I find them as foreign as you probably did. kombizz 15 Posted June 19, 2013 It is a nice image, although it would be nice to cut the half priest on the right hand side, as well as clone out the black zoom of the person on the left side. Then I clone out the rest of her white net from right side on the corner. Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted June 19, 2013 Even your title expands the many elements and details of this elegant church wedding. I love how you got the idea of her long veil in here, the many pieces of art, the expressions of them all, Mary (I assume) looking on from behind, the deep rich cranberry colors juxtaposed by the light delicate flowers and veil. You are lucky to have been welcomed here. They seem a handsome couple. The two older men had even more Link to comment

sideris 0 Posted June 19, 2013 Dear friend, I must confess you that wedding photo is not my thing, nevertheless I am captivated by this one of you.First of all because the lovely story of your presence in this celebration, and later because of the subjects attitudes, each one of them playing a defined role and very concentrated in this emotional event. Finally, despite other opinions, for your accurate composition, framing is a class in itself. Simply beautiful, as perfect is the light. I know that in big churches or cathedrals the light is usually very appropriated for the photography, but the way you did it is a great achievement. Chapeau, madame! Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted June 20, 2013 Pnina, you have captured a beautiful & solemn moment of their lives, so beautifully. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 20, 2013 Bill, it is a huge church, we were on our way to the airport so here is the link that will tell you the history.. Jeff, what is so interesting is how they have built this monumental churches , (we have visited some of them),without the technology of our era, let alone the outside/inside art decoration, sculpture etc.Alberto, thanks!Combizz, thanks for all your suggestions, but all of them were intentional and well thought about....I wanted to show the bridal veil as it was in reality, and as much of the BG behind them.To achieve it I "cut" the priest on the RHS, and left as well the camera zoom, as there were so many photographers, that I have decided to to sign it by showing the zoom on the LHS( (perfectly intentional! )...Donna, you have exactly and eloquently described my feelings.I will upload another version for you ! and others to see.Ruud thanks a lot, I appreciate it.Carlos, so nice to see you here ,and read your point of view, I must tell you that it was my first experience with a wedding in general , let alone this one in a church.... Please read the previous comments...;-)Amal,thanks for all of them , I hope you are feeling better. Link to comment

joaodebarros 1 Posted June 27, 2013 Pnina, this is a nice story and I believe it was a good feeling for you...life is full of stories as you well know...Funny, I'll tell you something: next saturday I will sing (I sing in my job Company chorus, I'm a bass singer) in a Catholic marriage similar to this one. It's the first time we will do that, I'll remember your story there. Best regards. Link to comment
jorge_fernandez3 1 Posted June 28, 2013 Chatholic marriage at its best capture very well my friend. All the details are amazing, as you, I always wonder about the genious of the minds that came up with so much beauty. Each Catholic Church in Miami is an absolute mistery to me, specially the Cathedral, that is were my Nun daughter serves. She is the Principal of St. Mary's Catholic School next to the Cathedral with the same name. Thank you for such a nice story, which touch my heart as my oldest Daughter is married to a Jewish man, my 3 grands are considered Jewish because of their last name which is Fein. I also work for the Jewish Vocational Service of Miami for 14 years, many people ask me if I am jewish because I talk about Israel and Jewish traditions all the time. Family, Education and wealth has became my priorities and in that order! Please look for a movie with the Tittle The other son, it is great. Take good care and warm regards. Link to comment
