Landrum Kelly 64 Posted June 17, 2013 I found this beside the trail in some low hills east of Charlotte. Comments welcome. --Lannie Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted June 17, 2013 I clipped the top. The perfect abstract from this rock is still "out there." I took these shots the day I got to the Uwharries in the late afternoon, thinking to go up what I thought was a short loop trail. Seven miles later, a half hour after sunset, I found my way back to the car--mostly by moonlight at that point. I was perfectly at home that day in the woods, day or night. The copperheads and timber rattlers were not crawling yet, or else I might have been a bit concerned. It was clear and chilly, but I had no doubt that I could get back by the stars and the light of the gibbous moon. It was magical at the end, as it got darker and the moonlight started throwing nice shadows. One gets a day out in the woods like that once in a while--but not too often in this over-developed part of the world. --Lannie Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted June 19, 2013 Lannie, Hats off to you for creating art out of cement. How would this look if you stretched the format out more horizontally? Ill tinker. Best to you. Larry Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted June 21, 2013 This is a weird-looking rock, Larry! That's why I shot it. That's a nice effort, although these are strictly documentary--"I was there, here's the record, etc.," and now I can move along to something more interesting. --Lannie Link to comment
