DEDICATED TO: Mike Palermiti - PN Friend /Photography Teacher

and Coach

I am dedicating this image to Mike because he has been invaluable

to me over the past 2 years. Without hesitation he has taken me

under his wing and offered whatever information and coaching he

can offer to further my knowledge base in Photography. Whether it is

a conversation over 'hand holding' for Macros, what lenses are best

for my Camera, how a lens actually works - or so many things that I

do not understand. Mike has been Patient, and always EAGER to

talk about what he loves best. This info just 'touches' on the vast

extent of information he has been happy to share with me and others

when you view his images. I have much to learn, but I always know

he is just a phone call away, and Betsy never discourages me calling

upon him and his expertise. 'Thank you - Uncle Mike' !!!

I took this image at a Garden Centre I visit every summer. This is a

Lily which I have not seen before. There were a vast number of what

they call this 'TINY SENSATION'. The proper name is 'Lilium Asiatic'.

They are so vibrant and rich in color. When I first saw them, they

took my breath away. I hope you enjoy this image, any comments

and visits as you know are always welcomed. Entered under

FLOWERS, sincere thanks, Gail

Hi! so glad I saw your comment. I read your other comment but have to respond. Ouuuuuu all those bugs!! I'm sure they will head up this way. I've actually had dreams about it!!! I saw a Bug Guy on Jay Leno the other night and Jay actually ate one. Good Protein they say-but who knows where that 'bug' had been????;-) I cannot imagine having them 'EVERYWHERE'!!!!!

Thanks so much for your comments on this image. I was a bit overwhelmed by just how 'fiery' they appeared!! I really should have purchased one! Thanks so much for your visit Donna, write when you have a chance, look forward to hearing from you.

Sincere regards, Gail

Thank you Bill. When I first looked at this one, I was surprised that I managed to almost separate this one Lily from the rest in behind.

Kind regards, Gail

Hi Gail,

Thank you so much for your very kind words. I appreciate your compliments, too.

I look forward to watching your improvements on a daily basis. This is your reward for asking good questions and practicing what you learned.

Your technically well shot image contains most of the visible spectrum that our eyes respond to, and the clarity level contrasts well with the blending of colors in the de-focused regions.

A++ work here.

Warmest Regards, Mike

What I like to this image is not only the beauty of the flowers but way that viewer feel to be in that inside dimension, nice one Gail.

A great and fitting tribute to a guy who gives of his time and knowledge so selflessly!

Such a vibrant and colourful flower, and so very well captured.

I think a small vertical crop on the far right would help balance this more and focus the viewers eyes more directly to the flower, but thats a purely personal observation and certainly not mean't as a criticism.

Compliments!

I really liked the softness of the flowers to the right, but I think I know of a spot that would have made for a better crop. Thankyou for bringing that to my attention, I think it would look much better.
