Dusk's declining light, a long lens, and an old sensor mute this photo

of two lovers lingering in the grass outside a political event as it was

morphing into a sponsored summer rock concert in a major Ukraine

metropolis far from capitol, Kyiv. Your ratings, critiques and

observations are invited and most welcome. If you rate harshly, very

critically or wish to make a remark, please submit a helpful and

constructive comment; please share your photographic knowledge to

help improve my photography. Thanks! Enjoy! john

I meant to post this for the longest time, but the 'softness' detracted me and I had not found my own compass.

Meanwhile and almost from the same night, one of my highest scoring ever photos was taken under a streetlamp, so orange/yellow that it was barely visible and its form barely recognizable, but it was 'pure art'.

If anyone is interested, ask, and I'll provide a link -- it's been seen by thousands of clickers here and otherwise.  I recently submitted that photo to the Aaron Siskind annual photo grant competition with nine other of my most 'artful' works, where I seek a prize/grant of $10,000.  I have other, more popular photos than that, but few more 'artful'.  This I think was taken the same night/same camera but with only somewhat more light.

(It was a very good night for 'soft' photos' in my opinion.)

A special prize (kudos but no money, however) comes to mind to anyone who can correctly identify the Cartier-Bresson photo that is called to mind by this photo (my mind, and perhaps yours if we're in synch, and surely if you make a correct choice, we ARE in synch.)
