Hi Madeleine,

This is an interesting image.  Every image tells a story and, I believe, that here the story is a bit shortchanged because of how close you are to the subject.  The statue's forehead is cropped off and the face needs more space to the right. (space to look through). The guard-soldier-policeman (can't tell) is gripping the statue's leg for unknown reasons (to keep it from toppling? being touched by spectators? Protecting against thievery ?)  There clearly are other people present who do not show up.

It might have been better to include more of the scene to make the story more understandable. (I know how difficult it is to work in a crowd - that is what reporting by images struggles with all the time.)  If you posted an entire story telling sequence this one would be a fine detail, but alone it doesn't give enough information.

Regards,

Jerry
