Melissa, I envy you this trip.  This and the sunset boat are my very favorite images but you're such a good photographer that the entire series is wonderful.

Did you take this out of a side port window of the airplane?  It has an almost mystical-demonic feeling because the landforms seem to form a face on the left side of the island.

The geology is not clear to me.  I interpret the dark greenish gray as vegetation and the dark blue as open ocean but I'm unclear why the underwater coral sands have formed the patterns that they have.  I lived two years in the Caroline Islands of Micronesia and took the long flight in and out a total of four transits and never saw anything quite like this.

Hi Jerry - Thank you so much - actually this is just my travel gallery, so some are from different trips. This was a beautiful trip though. I actually took my grandmother last month to celebrate her 80th birthday. We went on a cruise and were able to visit Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and St. Maarten. I would highly recommend it :) Thank you so much for taking the time out to comment and say hello!
