The name of the PREVIOUS OWNER of the D90 appears when one clicks on "EXIF data," but the shot is mine.

Thanks, Mike.

To the others, let me say that, following a reload, the large version is already showing the "wireless" version, and the medium version will surely refresh soon and show a wireless view as well.

This one kind of catches the essence of country road. I really like the way you composed this. It's almost as if the road is burrowing through the trees and foliage.

Thanks, Mike and Jack and others.  Jack, the view is illusory, but I saw it from another road and saw that with telephoto there might be something there that could create the illusion.

This Google street view was made with a wide angle lens, of course, and so the "tunnel" appears further away than it really was--but you get the idea.

Here is the Google street view cropped and thus brought in "closer."

This probably more nearly approximates what I saw.  The other Google view above is shown just to show the larger setting.

I was actually standing on the opposite side of Main St. from Thompson St. when I saw it.

And they say that the camera never lies!  The camera almost always lies.

The satellite view, for example, shows that Thompson really does not curve at all, for all practical purposes.  It is quite a straight street, and it is not nearly as lush as it appears in my photo.  There is one small left "break" as one goes up the street, but it is hard to see even with the satellite view.

Whatever small irregularity there was was exaggerated by my use of the telephoto lens--and so my picture lies as well.  In fact, that is the whole point--to create a pleasant illusion.  At least there was no photoshopping to speak of, except to clone out some telephone lines.

I can only say that I have presented a romanticized view of a prosaic reality.  Romance is always about illusion, I suppose.

Placing a pencil or piece of paper (or other straight edge) on the satellite view/map does show the tiny break to the left on Thompson Ave.  That break is vastly exaggerated by the use of the telephoto lens, in fact.

The truck suddenly appeared while I was shooting.  Some frames do not show any vehicle(s) at all.

There is in fact no tunnel-like canopy of trees at all.  That is strictly an illusion caused by telephoto compression.  http://www.learnmyshot.com/Telephoto-Lens-Perspective-Compression-and-the-Angle-of-View

THONPSON AVENUE ONE MORE TIJME

Just before Google imposed the map symbols and names, I was able to get this screenshot showing the very, very slight turns in the road.

Very pleasing image; I like the fallen leaves in the foreground (must be early fall). Reminds me of one of my favorite movies, Bridges of Madison County. Very well done. Thank you for sharing. :)
