kirigoi 0 Posted May 31, 2013 Lovely photo Line, the only thing that slightly bugs me is the composition; the house ever so slightly off centre with the distant building popping out of the roof. Given that the house is "looking" out to stage left, I'd have prefered it to be placed closer to either side of the frame; to right for a more relaxed look, or left for a sense of dynamic tension to match the broody sky. That being said, I love the tone and texture of the trees and grass, and you've done a great job with the black and white conversion, particularly on the house; bright and airy without clipped highlights. Given the extensive dynamic range represented, I presume this was an HDR image? A very inviting scene, and a smashing photograph. Thanks for sharing! Link to comment
LineMartel 6,324 Posted May 31, 2013 Thanks for your input. I plan on returning to the scene and will definitely try your suggestions. As for the processing, it is not HDR. Just made some local adjustments...Thanks again,Line Link to comment
WJBrowning 0 Posted May 31, 2013 Line a really beautiful surreal almost toy like shot. Great lead in line with the path and the vegetation. I really like the processing of this shot. Well seen and executed, best wishes William Link to comment
gregf 0 Posted June 2, 2013 Very moody, super-nice B&W treatment. The whole image has a ghostly feel. Is that two skyscrapers that I see in the distant background? Link to comment
LineMartel 6,324 Posted June 2, 2013 Yes they are skyscrapers... I was wondering if I should remove them... Link to comment
mountaineer1965 0 Posted September 11, 2014 with Mark on the background buildings, however, they almost look like a "skyscraper chimney". Your B&W work is amazingly good and as I have recently begun to move to more and more B&W conversions I find it highly inspirational. Keep up the great work. Link to comment
