Excellent elements in this composition Pierre. It is as if this 'traveller' has been on a long journey to give a very important 'message' to someone! You always think your images out with great intuitiveness.

Sincere regards dear Pierre, Gail

I'm a nerd.

The shadows seem wrong. They make the sun appear to be just across the street. The shadows would be parallel, and they would seem to converge a little into the distance, as railroad tracks do, but these shadows actually appear to point at the sun, which I thik they would do only if the sun were about as far away as the viewer.

Since the shadows would be parallel, they would be the same distance apart at the viewer as the horse and the telephone. The shadows don't look parallel, and I think you're right that they wouldn't look completely parallel, but they look way to convergent.

Perhaps one issue is that they don't follow the texture gradient on the ground, which they would have to do. If the shadows were right, that would imply that the texture on the ground was twice as big where the objects are as at the viewer, which makes no sense.

Dramatic, though. best, j

Thank you Ruud, thank you too Jamie,

although you made quite a quasi scientific elaboration of a thing which you, BTW forgot to call simply visual illusion of perspective! If the tracks of the mentioned railroad were parallel would they look parallel from the point of the viewer? And the imagined axes of the shadows lead strictly to the sun which produces them! And I don't know how did you see something which is impossible, the texture is absolutely equal and couldn't be possibly different in the shadows considering the way I made them! End of story!

It's been a long time since my last visit , but I see you are still coming up with imaginative ways of using the same elements ! I can see this on a Gallery wall .And that is from someine who doesn't care for sureal ! Well executed . Bill

Thank you William, your comment means a lot to me, as you say coming from someone who doesn't6 care for surreal!

Thank you too, Evgeni! Especially for the shadows remark!

Dear Pierre,

This is indeed a very engaging image. For me, much of the appeal lies in the dimensional "weirdness" in which you present the subjects. The surreal quality is not just in the fact that there is a huge telephone in the desert (which I love), but also in the way the telephone is lit, the clear cut line of the horizon, and the setting of the shadows, etc...these elements and others all add up to the wonderful surreal style you have created here. Great!

My friend Pierre,

Another great opening scene for a "Twilight Zone Episode"...............................

My only suggestion would be to add a small Sunspot to complete the reality.

Many movies featuring the rising or setting Sun will reveal the presence of Sunspots across the disc.

Best Regards, Uncle Mike

Sunspot? May it be moon-spot uncle Mike, for I used my own moon to make the sun, ha! Thank you for the advice uncle Mike!

Tutti aspettiamo sempre una nuova chiamata al telefono, anche chi sa o pensa di "essere a cavallo"! Ottimo il gioco delle ombre!

Thank you Doug, Maurizio and Patsy! You all seem to be impressed by the shadows for which I'm  very satisfied!

Hey, Jamie, you seem to be very original in commenting, nobody else said something close to your impression by the wrong shadows!

Hi Pierre,

The "Sunspot" reference came up because when I opened your image , I did see a small dark spot just below center of your "Sun" image. After moving your image , I found that same spot still there. Apparently, it was a very small insect (fly) that had died on my monitor and needed to be removed.

So, no matter what my preferences were , your image helped me clear my monitor of unwanted spots !!! Thank you my friend.

Best Regards, Uncle Mike
