setsail728 15 Posted May 19, 2013 Great shot John. The long torso of the model just works so well with all the vertical lines in the setting you chose to place her in. Very well done! Great eye! Link to comment
hen_ry 1 Posted May 19, 2013 A 3D-photograph, that you can look without 3D-glasses. The eyes allways turn back focusing the beautiful contrast between skin and skirt. Regards. hen Ry Link to comment
Davide Baroni 8 Posted May 19, 2013 John, there's a characteristic that I find in all your photos. There's always some kind of "story" in them. Your nudes tell a story, and there are lots of clues scattered around. This young lady is a beautiful woman (as always... You've got an incredibly high standard of beauty among your friends! ;-) ), very elegant. Her slender, perfect body has an elegant posture, underlined by that "necklace", and the arms and hair and expression are part of her elegance, though starting to tell the story. The setting is consistent with her, and there's the painting in the background, in the room in the left part of the picture, that is (to me) another clue about the story (or at least, the frame in which this picture has to be read). Also the other sculptures on the chest in the foreground seem to play a part in suggesting something about the situation... tell part of the story. Unfortunately they're too small for me to understand exactly what they are and represent, but that's the feeling. There's some sort of "invitation", maybe to a more "intimate" situation (the room on the left), and there's a feeling of harmony, nothing is forced. I like this very much. Ah, one last thing. As always, or almost, the model's expression is totally consistent with the story the rest of the picture tells. And this is quite a rare, and fundamental, quality. :-) Thank you for sharing your works. Davide Link to comment

panayotis_papadopoulos 0 Posted May 19, 2013 everything in half...the half nude part goes with the right part of the image. The other half (dressed), suits the left part of the photo. Very interesting thought and an equally interesting result. Take care my friend! Link to comment
John Peri 1,027 Posted May 19, 2013 Thank you very much dear friends, and to Davide in particular for the trouble taken to give such a detailed viewpoint, much appreciated, thank you. Our whole life is a story line really, sometimes we blend into the background, other times we separate from it, and still others we change it so as to fit in with our purpose. On each of these occasions, a new state of equilibrium is set. A photo such as this does indeed hope to tell a story then, but the one read from the image will depend as much as on the person viewing it as the ones giving the narrative. Link to comment

mike_palermiti 2 Posted May 19, 2013 HI John,The variety of shapes, objects, contrasted by the darker room to the left and brighter room to the right work well for the senses. The beautiful sleek form factor of this model completes this well thought out composition.Nice work my friend. pressuredbyphotons 5 Posted May 20, 2013 Her pose and the stark black skirt gives her the demeanor of a life size item of art that is mirrored by the statue on the table beside her and the various paintings scattered throughout the apartment. The jewellery around her neck also contributes to her "decorative" nature. There is an art deco feel to her presence in this picture. It is amazing how versatile your apartment has become as an essential element in your pictures. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 260 Posted May 23, 2013 This picture tells us about a master of arranging of the environment, composing, leading the models and catching the best pose, BW technique and lighting, therefore it would be seven! Best PDE Link to comment
matthijs 0 Posted September 16, 2013 My eyes keep returning to this one.I guess it's the contrast between the timeless beauty of the model (including dress and pose) versus the earthly (visually messy) environment. Very well done. Link to comment
