Paradise Cove

While photography was not a priority on this trip to St. Lucia, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to put my stamp on the iconic view of the Pitons on the south end of the island. This is a late afternoon image, with a humid haze in the air. I hung out at this black sand beach, volcanic in origin, as the clouds and peaks took on the warm glow near sunset. f16,, polarizing filter, ISO 320, f16, 1/8 sec.

Perfect exposure to show the movement of the water. I especially like the sinuous motion in the foreground which contrasts nicely with the spiky streaks of the breaking wave. Nicely done.

Well done. photography in the Caribbean is not easy to 'sell' unless it is 'tourist' shot with punched up blues. I like this one very much.

I have darkened it a bit just for discussion.

Tony - I do the darker areas, especially on the back side of the Piton.  The humidy haze prevented some crispness of the peaks, though clarity adjustment in RAW development helped.  I prefer the FG rock a bit brighter, more like the original post.  Thanks for the feedback.
