The vivid colors of the pin cushion and thread are a great contrast to the rusted machine.  Nice lighting and great background.  Did you manipulate the background?  Either way, it's a perfect backdrop for the sewing machine.

For many years 'Old Rusty Singers' have been a passion of mine. I just have not had the funds to purchase them when I have found them. But the many artful uses of these old machines is endless.

Lovely lighting in this image Lester, all elements so carefully placed with a beautiful result.

Hi Christal. Thank you so much for your nice remark. Regarding the background this muslin cloth is not manipulated since it's difficult for me to separate it from the outlines of the foreground even in layers. The design likewise is original. Best regards!

This was my late mom's machine and she never parted with it. I kept it with me and I am proud to have photographed it and post it. In her memory, I dedicate this photo to her.

Thanks for dropping by. Best regards!

this has everything going for it Lester...the textures are great and the green thread atop the sewing machine is a wonderful addition due to the lighting...the touch of red in the pin cushion moves the eye towards the rest of the image...great work....David

A ways away from your spectacular landscapes, but equally excellent image.I like how you have added that bit of color to complement the aged Singer.Nice testimony to your mother;somewhere down the line,I must try to copycat you as I have my grandmother's old Singer waiting in the aisles and I was wondering what to do with it.Good work!

Meilleures salutations-Laurent

Hi Lester,

Beautiful image with amazing lighting, colors & details.  The many things this machine has sown.  Wonderful work!!  Take care, Patsy

Very nicely composed and lit. Nice use of colors and textures. If I had one suggestion it would be to thread the machine fully. The green thread goes from the spool across to the top of the mechanism on the left but then stops. If you continued and threaded the levers it would complete the illusion that it was ready to be used again. Just my 2 cents.

This is a wonderful still life. The lighting is great, and the colors are very vibrant in contrast to the sewing machine and the background. The line of the measuring tape is artful. Very nice image!

Excellent subject and seeing this I regret that I did not caught in a photo one like this I had from my grandma and gave it to a museum.Idea for color spools creates necessary contrast to appreciate this old machine.

In search for something old to photograph I chanced upon this old 'Singer' my mother had before. Things of memorable nature sometimes become objects for good visuals. Thanks for dropping by.

I still remember to good use my mother did with this machine to sew our torn clothes or make new ones. Thank you for your visit.

Thanks for your remarks. Guess I am not good at threading these precious machines. Regards.
