I suggest some changes: change contrast; crop to a vertical portrait crop; leave most of the distance from her eyes to the edge. (Give her eyes room to look through)

For me, a distinct liking for the original which conveys the subtle warmth and tenderness of the subject, a truly charming image,  bravo. 

I definitely concur with John, the original contrast gives the image depth. The original centering tends to keep the viewer's eye on the face and let the viewer's eye absorb the complete impact of the facial expression.  The original image has a much higher emotional impact on the viewer.
