You are standing high above the ice cold waters of Lake Superior

looking down upon the eroded cliffs of Pictured Rocks. The promontory

in the distance is known as Miner's Castle. Comments invited and

suggestions entertained.

Margaret, it's not Lake Michigan...it's Lake Superior. I've edited the photo info to avoid future confusion. Thanks and regards.

Wonderful image with great detail and color saturation. The view through the water really catches my attention. Excellent work!

I've been here many times and seen similar photos at this angle many times (taken many myself), but I've never seen the depth of colors that you have captured. Congrats.

Don, a few miles west of here, in Munising Bay, is the Alger Underwater Preserve. It's a favorite spot for scuba exploration of many old shipwrecks that occurred over the years. Lake Superior is very unforgiving.

This is one of the few shots I have seen on this site that benefit from a larger sized posting. The detail is awesome and the color so suprising when you think of the great lakes. Lots of drama and detail. This one is worthy of the highest marks.

to eveyone who stopped by for a visit. Michigan's Upper Pennisula is a favorite place for me; it has always been an adventure to travel through it. Unfortunately, the land that Hemingway loved and wrote about is rapidly losing it's unique wildness, an individuality that so many lovers of the outdoors admired.
