Please view large. Some say the best images are captured at home or in

one's own local area. I happened to look at the sky in our back yard on

May 6 and found this unusually dramatic sunset. My point and shoot was

on the kitchen table. The result is here. As always, I value your

comments. Larry

A wonderful surprise too.  The colours are really beautiful, but what makes it even more so for me is the capture of the fine filigree branches of the silhouetted trees.

Compliments & Best Regards

How fast did you race for the camera when you saw this exquisite sky?  The silhouetted trees make the image.

Thanks for your visits and  compliments.  Shooting this was more reflex action to grab the camera off the kitchen table and snap.  I must have grabbed the camera in less than 15 seconds after taking a look at the sky.  I did take care to compose the image with little ground and dominating sky.  Yes, the trees are a major element in the presentation of the image.  This is somewhat ironic because trees tend to impede more sunset shots by blocking images.  I was pleased to see them as an artistic element here.  Thanks again for your comments.
