Dimitris, such a nice portrait which tell us who is handsome & attractive and interesting & legend story about past. also the subtle lighting, nicely tonality & sharpness add more for great image!      Best regards

Thank you very much my friend, this an ongoing project in restoring old family photos. At that old age they are generally in very bad condition. Is a very slow process restoring them...We owe it to our ancestors to do it and as I said before, without a past we do not have a future..

As you know some of these studio pictures like the above were hand painted.

In the same folder there is a picture titled ; Cousin Pampis' Underneath it I posted the original and you can see from that the condition that these pictures are generally in.

Regards.

Thank you Maurizio and Ruud. It was his name day last Monday...(St George's day), ...sentimental aren't I...-:)

I only make scans, rarely repairing them cause I think the tracks of time should be on them, look more genuine that way! Only couple of them I adjusted, no scratches, missing parts and such! Well done my friend! I salute your project!

Excellent work!  It would be interesting to know your technique.  Do you scan or photograph or what?   Mike

Yes I scan the picture first on a flat bed scanner and I use the tools available in photoshop, especially the clone tool.
