'Driftwood Snag, Puget Sound, Washington State'

The mountains and other parts of Washington State south through

Northern California are covered by many forests, and when man

harvests them or when nature fells the trees, many are washed down

streams and rivers into the ocean and salt water, like Washington's

Puget Sound where they often wash up on beaches, like here, and

become 'snags' of twisted, bleached, and very slowly disintegrating
