This is just beautiful. 
I've always been fascinated by the shape of my cats eyes but never thought they'd come out well in photos. Well you've proved that it does!
It's simply stunning. 

Wow; great detail in his eye! Thanks to this photo I am beginning to get inspired to pick up my new camera and have some fun! I have the D7000 too - I bought it last year and have only used it once last December. I hope I can get results like this! Thank you for sharing. :)

as far as the contest goes i think this is the best photo sofar, well imho.

it provides a uinque perspective compared to most other entries.

what makes it a great photograph in terms of contest-conditions regarding the eye, it also shows what this particular eye sees and therefor gives a sense of place and activly implement seeing, what an eye does if working, into the photo.
