Thanks for viewing/comments! .. part of the mating ritual is that the male

keep going from one side to the other (left, right, left ..ect) and keep

playing with the water before hoping on .. It's their foreplay for the male to

splash water into the female, I think. This can go for a few mintues ...

Stellar capture of the avocets. You have both sharp which is not easy to do, especailly at long focal lengths. The pose and color are also very appealing. Excellent work Tm J!

Thanks Robert! Yup, one of the problem with mating shot is the DOF (I've had numerous shot with only one bird sharp). Lighting was getting harsh (this was taken around 10AM) and I had to cut the EV to -1 and that push the f-stop to F10 which helps the DOF as well.

Tm J,

I like the position of the guy in the foreground. And, the very fitting, yet comical image title!

Regards always,

Jim j.

Thanks Per!

Thanks Jim! ... he's a rider, therefore I had to call him a Cowboy .. the funny thing is he had a headache twice before he would go riding. Life is good as a male Avocet, I think. :-)

Thanks John! Sorry I miss your name when I replied to Phil, my sincere appology. Sometimes, I go in here briefly at work and get side track from work's disruption. Have a great day! :-)

Also, welcome to PN!
