This is a great motive. I like the dark colors very much. Did you try to change the horizon up or down. Your way, with the horizon in the middle, takes the visual tension out of the image.

Your efforts were well worth it Art. As others have said it is a beautiful Composition. I like how the road leads us into the image. The sun setting and the lovely blend of colours in the sky are a great bonus.

Thank you all for your thoughts on this, they're much appreciated. Tommy, I agree with you, this image seems a little too symmetrical in terms of horizon placement. I did play around with the image increasing the space of the sky and cropping part of the foreground but there wasn't any interest to make me keep the extra sky and cropping the foreground seemed to take away interest from the foreground, so I decided to crop the image as you see it here. All that said, I recognise your point. I guess I was hoping that the off-center sun set would help break up the symmetry.
