Thank you for the kind appreciation.Light was minimal as the sun was not quite over the horizon so I upped the ISO and minimally fixed up the slight movement in PP for this hand held shot.High POV is from the top of the bridge linking our two islands.Boats are standing ready at the bridge and leave at six o'clock sharp under the surveillance of the Fisheries officials. This morning was good as the waters were mirror calm until stirred up by the rush of boats from this wharf and those from the wharf on the other side of the bridge(other photo against the sun).

Thank you so much.It is a race of some sort as thse boats are all heading to a designated area and want the choice locations they have mapped in previous years. The front runners have calm waters in which to navigate while the boats in the back have to deal with the turbulence created in front.....Interesting!

I like the long slipstream of water made by the first boat out & the white exhaust smoke & image the crew are cheering for 1st out. Well done Laurent getting up so early to take the shot.  John

What a neat picture! One can almost feel the cool moisture in the air and hear the roar of those boats' engines. The blending of the light in the water and the air is magic!

Hi Laurent,

Beautifully executed. This is a great vantage point. I like the perspective and the gradual change of colors from the deep blue to the light colors at the top left. If I could change anything I might try to darken the exposure to get a little more pink/red out of the sky to the top left, then brighten the entire frame to get it back to this same level of exposure. Otherwise a great shot! Well done.

Thank you for viewing and for the kind appreciation.Getting up was easy for this day which is really the talk of our village for weeks leading to this.Furthermore,it is but 3 minutes from home and the weather was perfect which is not always the case.

It is a hype and many people,a lot from families of these fishermen are up on the bridge early so as not to miss this annual kickoff. This day was good;clear sky, calm waters and not too cold (-1C).Thank you for viewing and for your kind appreciation.

Thank you for examining this and for your observation. You are right and I did work on this one to tweak the colors etc...but my PP skill level is pretty basic and my dexterity with the curves is what it is.I did however work on the frame prior to this one(uploaded) and brought up the sun's glow and a different tint to the scene.I would welcome and appreciate your opinion if you can spare a look at it.
