fotomac 0 Posted April 30, 2013 I love your work, and i dont mind this pose, but what i dont like is the tan lines on the models backside, i think it detracts from the overall look of the image. It is frustrating sometimes when models turn up with huge tan marks, its so much work to clone them out and its often ruinous to the concept of the image IMHO Link to comment
Elstad 3 Posted April 30, 2013 Me? I find tan lines quite intimate and erotic I do. Perhaps that's an attitude developed because I'm a beach dweller. So there we have the yin and the yang of that. Did I mention that I like tan lines on my models? I Do!:=} Link to comment
JPPhoto1664880217 2 Posted May 1, 2013 Beautiful model whose pose is significantly enhanced by the light blue color. Jim Phelps Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted May 1, 2013 It is interesting that such a powerful image should be brought down to a debate on tan lines. It is a fact of life that they exist. If I had the chance to shoot such a powerful image with a girl with tan lines or not to shoot it, I know what I would do. Strong stuff! Link to comment
ruudalbers 0 Posted May 1, 2013 A really beautiful and original result with very nice lighting, Raymond! Link to comment
fotomac 0 Posted May 1, 2013 Seems my comment provoked a bit of feedback, but for the record, I did love the image, I do love your work and I am very picky with my models, HOWEVER seeing as the sun rarely shines in Scotland long enough for anybody to get a tan line, most of my gripes are that the models over here have deliberately gotten tans from either a bottle or a UV sunbed, both of which they should have control over. davidmccracken 2 Posted May 1, 2013 Colin, I hope Raymond doesn't mind but people do 'sunbathe in Scotland.' Link to comment
Elstad 3 Posted May 1, 2013 One of my proudest possessions as a teenager and one that I've managed to keep are the secret treasure of tan lines that occur from the constant wearing of slaps, zories, shower shoes, whateveryawanna call them. I practically live in them during 3 seasons of the year and not everyone sees my slap tan lines but I know they are there. They give me a private joy they do. And should you be wondering... YES we have seasons here in Southern California, being: Early Summer; Summer; Late Summer and of course Next Summer :=} To repeat MY position... girls with tan lines are quite erotic as everyone doesn't get to see them unless the girls are nude. And just to echo David... Do people really sunbathe in Scotland? Link to comment
John Peri 1,007 Posted May 2, 2013 Raymond certainly has a point there, I remember my first view of a tan line or part of a body that was not available normally for view, they soon became part of the signaling device that something exciting and unusual was afoot .. VARGAS was aware of this and often introduced them purposefully into his sketches .. a kind of Pavlovian effect .. A a glamour photographer myself, I love the subject matter in Raymond's photos, but I must admit shamefully to being even more attracted by the overall design of his works. The architecture and colour distribution have me scanning my mind for constellations which obey the laws of physics in their geography and design. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted May 2, 2013 Perhaps you missed my link in the comment to Colin. To answer your question if people sunbathe in Scotland, click this link. Link to comment
Elstad 3 Posted May 2, 2013 Truth be told, I did miss the link... So Very Funny David! Quite the beach they have there. I suppose it takes a bit of privacy at the Nude Beach to avoid Tan Lines :=} Link to comment
