Yes, still looking pretty good after all these years despite a little

chipped paint. I always admire the art in this old advertisement from

a bygone era. I thought I should take a photo before she is gone one day.

I agree, she needs preserving, and I'm glad you did.  Cool painting,  cool image.  Your goal was obviously to be documentary, but you did a good job - nice colors and textures and the chipped paint and fading makes it interesting.  Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Charles, interesting I found an article on Coca-Cola Murals Make a Comeback. The article shows the exact same mural restored. The restored mural according to the article is in Monroe, Washington.

My photo was taken a couple weeks ago in Bristol, Pennsylvania. They are eerily similar beyond  the mural itself. The Washington photo has the lines and tilt in the side walk but no air conditioner  sticking out of it, but the wires cutting across look about the same. I will have to drive down to Bristol and look at these lines.

Here is a link to the article and photo from Monroe, Washington. See what you think. Could that photo be this same location, but Photoshop. I don't want to make an accusation, but look at the side walk too. If they are different locations it really is eerily similar.

OK, this is getting to be a fun photo forensic endeavor. I found another article on Tod Johnson's Laundromat Coca-Cola mural restoration talked about in the Coca-Cola website article and this one from the Monroe Monitor newspaper from Monroe Washington is not the same mural.

Link to other article.

So now I am wondering if the Coca-Cola marketing people didn't take some liberties in making a looking story.

I am even counting bricks and finding the same mortar dents at some of the same locations in the mural, dark spot on the inside elbow on both, same two dark spots under under breast. Same different colored sun-glass lenses.

Mark, your image and the one in the article are definitely the same.  Not only did they photoshop the sign iteslf and remove the air conditioner, they added some buckets and other stuff on the sidewalk to look freshly completed.  Weird...honest mistake?  The didn't have anyone to go out and get an actual picture so they just fixed one they thought they already had?  I think all the history/background makes your shot all that more interesting.  Very cool.

I tend to agree, Charles.

Svetlana, it sure is interesting seeing bits of the past like this. Next time I'm in Bristol, I'll try to talk to the building owner to see if I can get some more history on this mural, I would like to know when it was originally painted. I would guess the 60's maybe even the 70's.  Thanks for stopping by to look and comment.
