This image, like the others from this shoot, appears rather lacklustre in terms of colouring. Whilst you certainly have crisp definition, I just feel that birds are generally more colourful than your images portray.

Best regards

Graham, this is actually been uplifted in terms of colour and saturation, i don't know if its just s Scottish thing due to the damp cold weather, but trust me all the birds i shot over the weekend looked very pale and as we say in Scotland, peelie wallie. I am at a loss to understand, in terms of photography there is not much more i could have done to improve the capture, the only other issue is that i was using a Canon 70-200 F2.8L ISUM with a Canon doubler EX2, that may have had an impact.

Thanks for your response...........

I popped your image into PSE6 and ran it through the auto fix option, just as a quick reference......... it produced this colouring (almost)... I then touched it up with a little contrasting.

That said, could your White Balance be a little "out"? Just a thought....

Does my rendition look anything like you saw at the time of capture?

Regards

Graham

Trust me when i say that is not how they look at Lochwinnoch, maybe i should post the raw capture and that will give a sense of just how under coloured these birds were.
