Kestrel.

Last January I went to Cyprus for a few days. It was a sunny morning and I was in the house 'playing' with my new point and shoot Leica. I was dying to shoot something worth while at full zoom (In 35mm eqivalent to 6oomm). I already shot a couple of dozen frames of pigeons and crows ... they were OK but the subjects were a bit boring, the camera was set up though. I suddenly heard a bird of pray calling, I went in the front garden and looked around, I heard that call before but I could see nothing. This time there it was, sitting on the top of the female cypress tree two houses away the sun was low and behind me, I raised the camera and I took the shot that you see at full zoom. What I uploaded is 30% of the frame approximately.

That afternoon I shot another picture from the same point only this time at the widest angle of zoom which in 35mm is equivalent  to 26mm. 

I was reluctantly convinced then that it would make an excellent travel camera as it is very light and one does not have to carry ''tons'' of equipment when one goes abroad.
