Off-shore - Mirissa. One of the busiest shipping lanes in the world -

ocean-bound container ships and tankers cruise by in formation - the

same distance behind and infront of other boats heading to Singapore,

East Asia and Australasia, and back to the middle-east and the

west.

Great sky, bold and effective composition. It might have been even better if the ship had been more to the right rather than dead in the middle. Also, I would like to see a bit more - just a bit more, of course - of the sea below the ship.

Very interesting cloud, it delivers a great contrast with the small ship ! Composition-wise, I would however opt for a little more space (sea) below the ship.

Thanks for visiting my folder. I am longing for your 11 months India-Sri Lanka- Tibet presentation - you make me jealous of affording that length of time to travel :)

Journalism - its not as strong as something from the Gulf war, it doesnt show death or destruction, but to me it is Journalism - when you consider the location of Sri Lanka - consider how many boats skip by the coast, like this one without a second thought from anyone - Every boat heading east to west, west to east HAS to pass this point - I think its pretty significant - its not going to win me a nobel peace prize, but its more than just a picture of a Tanker: Then again, perhaps its just me!
