This is a beautiful composition of a solitary tree. It may be central but I feel it only strenghtens its singleness and power created by the mood of the photograph. Congratulations, Wolfgang.

Less is more in this simple but very effective shot. The composition and lighting is spot on to produce a very strong landscape. The tones and textures are very effective in B & W. Well seen and executed, best wishes William.

many thanks for your comments - I highly appreciate them, as these "bare trees" are not exactly photos that call for attention. And, I'm glad you mentioned "strength" - there is a risk to central composition, but with the strict centering of the tree (and horizontal lines below) I aimed at a composition that challenges the viewer a bit (using some "force" or "strength"):

They don't call for attention but they stand there quietly and wait for someone to pass who can appreciate their stark beauty. Luckily you have the eye to recognize and record what they so uniquely offer.
