Yes it is April 25th and last evening during a rainfall, it did begin to

SNOW. The Robins are here! My Irises are peeping through the

ground and the shade trees are almost ready to burst. Dare I say

that 'Winter has been put to REST'???? I suppose I can in my own

mind, and just hope for the best!!! (sincere appreciation for any visits

and input, kindest regards, Gail {Abstract})

Very effective mirror image technique; love the texture.  Reminds me of a totem.  (Sorry, decided not to use complete sentences today.)

My best,

We have some April showers in London but our garden is blooming, especially in last few days..is really amazing, it is as though somebody set an alarm clock and is ringing with a deafening noise waking nature up..

Beautiful and artistic abstract you composed here Gail, love the texture, yes I think the title is nice. I can't help thinking  though, 'Medieval shroud of...'

I am not surprised that so many of us, when seing your pictures, want to say, "it reminds me of..." Because with their abstract symmetry they - yes - subconsciously, of course - reminds us of Rorschach tests! Without ever having had to be confronted with one, of course(!) Should I indulge in what I see? Better just a little bit: I do not see so much weather or seasonal change, instead I can vaguely see a crystal skull, a golden scarab, a chador, a medidating man with many arms, event horizons sucking in matter - and maybe also an excited pineal gland, happy to shed the shroud of winter. In short: Another great picture!

Phillip is quite right, the image does immediately provoke the "it reminds me of"  reaction, for all kinds of personal reasons each best known to the viewers. But for me this one reminded me of the work of another photographer "Michel Lantendresse" who took several shots of ancient tombs and figures in Angkor, Cambodia. Of course I don't mean to make a direct comparison, as your image is more an impression of the mood and atmosphere that I perceived in Michels work, but the textures and colours have that same resonance and mystical reverberation.

Compliments & Best Wishes

Alf

I actually used another capture of my 'solar light' with the icicles hanging down to make this composition. The resulting image that I decided on reminded me of a 'shroud', but perhaps I could have used many different names of it!!!! It is interesting to hear of the ones it reminded you of Alf!!!
