Very cute picture. Perhaps a tip for the future is to see if you could get the family facing towards you. I know it can be difficult when there's babies in tow, but you could always try bribing them by throwing some bread! Other tips might be to get closer / use a longer lens and to be careful with the shadows; they look quite dark here and some detail is lost. If you shot raw the detail could perhaps be recoverable.

Anyway, thanks for posting a lovely spring image!

Thank you friends for your kind words. Next time I try to get them near. It was difficult. Regards.

Hi Mari,

A well shot scene.

As for the family orientation, I have encountered the same issues . I just sit down and wait. Often, these birds will feel comfortable with your presence and come toward you out of curiosity.

If they are feeding, small bits of food can entice them to come closer to you if they have ever been feed before by people.

Best Regards, Mike

Mari,

Lovely one, those tiny ducks are just great to see. In the dutch newspaper there was a picture of two ducks with 35 of them (photoshop?) Mari beautifull spring image. Kind regards,

Herman

Lovely capture Mari. We have a female that returns to our Neighbors pool every Spring with a new mate. I do not know if they have mated yet, have gotten a few captures but my lens limits me a bit. Another male entered the pool the other day and a disturbing fight erupted. They were both on top of the female at one point and she was for the most part, UNDER water!!

I like to see this, the babes are born and all looks peaceful. Lovely!!
