Naddi was an evil spirit ...II

Iso 50. Shutter speed: 1/1250. Aperture f/4,5. Focal length: 7.2mm equal to 35mm. This is my first "real" digital shot. Story behind the image: Different sources recount the origin of this cross. This is, in short, what the story of Naddi says in the folk tales of Jon Arnason: A farmer from Borgarfjordur had to go to Njardvik and on his way ended up in a fight with Naddi. He was "an evil spirit in the shape of an animal above, but a man below the waist." He lived in a cave in Njardvikurskridur and killed people in the darkness who went this way which was, and is the only way between Borgarfjordur and Njardvik. He was called Naddi because of the gnawing ("nadda" in Icelandic) sound he made while moving. They smote together for a long time, and after having solemnly sworn to raise "a monument to honor the Lord's protection", the farmer managed to throw Naddi into the sea. From then on there's been a cross along the track which has been renovated in the middle of last century. On the cross there's an inscription in Latin, which reads: Thou that walked by / Pray heed this place - In Christ thou dwelt / And humbly Him reverted Anno 1306 EFFIGIEM CHRISTI QUI TRANSIS PRONUS HONORA ANNO MCCCVI. The first wrote about it is from Olavius travelbook 1776. Icelandic version is following: Þu sem framhja fer / fram fall i þessum reit - Og Kristi imynd her / audmjukur lotning veit. Anno 1306. Image desaturated in PS 7. Some powerlines in distance was cloned away, otherwise unmanipulated. What do you think, the Color- or B&W version? Thanks in advance for your ratings and comments.
