There had just been a very heavy shower in Toronto, when I caught this

cycle messenger. I wanted to give the shot a feel of cycling in heavy rain

so in post processing I added two different textures to the shot. I would be

grateful for your views on the treatment of this shot. Many thanks for your

time William.

I don't know much about adding textures, but I do think that you have gotten the feel of riding in the rain. The 'jumpiness' of the image gives me, as a viewer, a feel for the experience riding in stormy weather. thanks. ed

Since you are asking sincerely, I will give you my very personal opinion, with all due respect. The thumbnail looks fine, but once opening this image for comments, the effect is overdone and does not look natural. One of the first things I was looking for - after reading your comments on how you took and processed the image - was the sprinkling effect of rain in small pools. The fact that no such sprinkles appear on the wet surface throws the whole image off. All said, the main thing is that you continue experimenting. You will eventually get it right. I think you are doing the right thing to seek feedback in forums like PN.
