A somewhat classic, symmetrical mirror image. My eye, oddly, is being drawn more toward the bottom reflection of the mountain than it is to the actual mountain above. That feels a little awkward to me, though being drawn to the reflection does work in some situations.

You have capture many beautiful details, the contrast is fantastic and the blue and purpplish clauds are perfect. Warm regards.

Lovely image of the majestic Fuji, from a viewpoint I haven't previously seen. The reflection is nicely complementary in the composition with the shoreline details. IMHO, the "heavier" uppermost cloud cover kind of encroaches, and sort of discourages the "lifting" ethereal feeling that Mt. Fuji characteristically inspires. A beauty, nonetheless. Cheers!

Thank you folks! Thanks for stopping by and left your thought, just got back from my trip from Alaska and had no idea this was 'photo of the day?'  since I did not have access to internet and was too busy shooting in Alaska :-)

while the scenery is great and the photograph doesn't have any obvious flaws, i don't feel it as an outstanding image. i try to explain why.

-the composition: the mountain is not exactly centered, but neither off-center enough for a great aesthetic effect. same thing with the image and its reflection: almost centered. i think it would have worked a bit better with everything centered, or much better with everything a lot more off center. but not this way.

-the light: i don't think it is a good light for a great photo. it results washed out colors, and, despite the dull contrast, it still have many highlight and shadow, which, i admit, are properly exposed but still close to be blown. the tones are not pleasant at all for me.

no offense, it is a good photo, and it have even a bit of unusual-ness, that we can call originality, but aesthetically and visually is not convincing.

all the best!

Thanks Zsolt! Glad to hear your detailed comment, I know what you mean about the image not standing out. It's a tour of Japan for 10 days (my 2nd time taking the same tour) and I am  lucky to get anything like this though. Landscape shooting, to me, is very time consuming and it's impossible to do well on a tour. I am just so glad I can get the mountain since it's covered in fog quite often. I got this shot right in fromt of the hotel by getting up very early before our tour bus leaving for the day, btw.
