'Ferry, Manhattan to Governor's Island, 1968'

This smaller ferry departed lower Manhattan on a regular but not

rushed schedule to take only those with permission to Governor's

Island in the harbor below Lower Manhattan and off Brooklyn. This

car and passenger ferry, seen in 1968, has just left the dock, and its

crew (see the figure or two), is just clearing lines, etc. for the approx.

five-minute journey. Now the ferry and island are open to public
