AJHingel 127 Posted April 8, 2013 Somehow a farfetched title for a simple branch on a half frozen lake, but it was indeed the last shot before a warmer season. Any critics would be appreciated. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted April 15, 2013 I like the composition of this photo and the use of space to set off the lone branch. I felt maybe a little more contrast, slightly firmer tones would add a little more stark drama. Hope you don't mind me fooling around. Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted April 15, 2013 You are right, Jack your version is more mainstream and a valid alternative.I very often opt for less saturated and less contrasted pictures. A question of mood and spirits, I would think. It is also a cultural thing for sure. Nuances, unspectacular scenes, fog, low lands and closed landscapes, music of Grieg, paintings of Caspar Friedrich etc, are all part of my Nordic Germanic heritage, heavily influenced by romanticism. Thanks for your comments and suggestion.
