I've always been attracted to the natural forms and strange objects that are washed up on beaches. As I've noted elsewhere, I used to be a found object sculptor and this would have been paradise for me. The photograph catches the feeling of anticipation that I used to have when I would park my truck, grab an old canvas sack and head to the beach to see what I would find that day.

You were quick with your comment on this one. There is plenty of driftwood and also a lot of lost fishing gear that gathers on these ocean facing beaches. Most of this was washed ashore last fall with the high tides and violent winds and then covered up with snow after having iced up.Springtime is quite revealing and here, my dog and I have almost sole possession of the beaches, not because of any sort of right but driven by this photo insanity which pushes one to go out, forget that it is freezing while saliving at the prospect of the images that will fill the computer screen at the end of the day.I can understand your feeling for these washed ashore treasures.Thank you for the kind observation.

Meilleures salutations-Laurent
