This is so funny! Dog or cat, it doesn't matter, they like putting their noses in shoes. My Chewey, Free-Free and Gracie all love to engage in this behavior! Thank you for sharing this photo of sweet Tapsu and making me smile. :)

Trisha - Thank you for kind commenting:) Well the dogs and cats live in a world of smells which is surely different to us and largely unknown (luck perhaps...) as well...Dogs seem to know when we need certain things and when it is time to take advantage of the situation....this develops some businessman skills in them - luckily they are more playful than true businessmen;)

Some dogs have actually been proven to be able to detect cancer cells in their human family members they are close to! They can detect it through their sense of smell. I read that in a study about 5 years ago and it was an enlightening and fascinating read! I was writing a research paper at the time on my chosen subject "The Healing Effects of Animals". I really enjoyed doing the research and writing the paper. I am sure you are in good hands with Tapsu! :)

Trisha, I am aware of the Cambridge study and it has gone well so far. However, I am not aware of your research paper on “ The Healing Effects of Animals”, it is either sold out or has escaped my sight..maybe both..-(maybe you have a spare pdf copy?) I have myself noticed the instant healing effect on many elderly patients who have diagnosis like dementia, Alzheimer or just old age which is becoming “out of fashion” … anyhow more institutes and homes for elderly should have a cat/dog as a permanent resident. It would lower the cost of unnecessary medication and reduce the dose of any drug what is needed to treat for example the AH. Tapsu is a good example of both sensing the situations but also making some diagnosis. When he was younger he wanted to show all the new things that were around and I remember him appearing about dozen insulin syringes held gently in his mouth from the patient waiting room…. So he is a born assistant too…-and I trust that I am in good hands with Tapsu:)
