Santa María near Ascaso, now deserted and in ruins, is a hamlet that

belongs to the municipality of Boltaña. There is, prominent on the white

chalk, a beautiful sundial with a strange and unusual inscription: "De casa

Santa María son los dueños a toda costa Don José Lacort e hijos y Da

Teresa Bellosta” (more or less: “Of Casa Santa Maria are the owners at all

costs Don Jose Lacort and sons and Doña Teresa Bellosta”).
