The light is magical and the colours are fantastic in this wonderful mountain landscape. I too like the rock that takes me off to the beautiful layers in the mountains. Very impressive work. BR

This is nice, but the colors seem to be a bit too saturated, especially on the foreground rock.  Why are the colors so blue on the rock in this photo compared to your other photo "Cornerstone"?

thank you very much!

Jeff: the amount of saturation is a matter of taste, until none of the color channels are blown. you like it less saturated, i like it this way. all subjective, and a matter of personal taste, and thats why the saturation level does not qualify a photo. but indeed, is an interesting question why is the color and saturation level different on the foreground rock in two shots from the same spot, in the same morning?

and the answer is: the LIGHT, the light changes everything.

because, i used the same processing workflow on both, and none of the colors were selectively enhanced, maybe the reds a little bit but not the cyans for sure. i often experienced in the field, that red light cast blue shadows, and golden light gives cyan shadows, which is the case here. the difference between the 2 photos is a few minutes, but it was after a storm and conditions were changing fast. the other photo has more neutral light and so, no color cast in shadows.
