This is almost full frame.... I slightly cropped for a better presentation. Trying out my newly acquired lens... more at the "long" end than the wide end. Images like this helped me assess that I had purchased well, off eBay.... So I'm a happy chappie (smiles).

Although this image appears to be well-lighted, it was actually in the shade (or not in direct sunlight) so I had to play around a bit to get the effect I wanted...... this was take 5, I think (smiles).

Hi Grayham,

Another nice scene.

You should obtain better performance at F/5.6 with this zoom lens.

Upon enlargement, the background appears to have uneven areas (processing issue), probably due to noise.

Best Regards my friend, Mike

Congratulations on the purchase of your new lens, long may it bring you many perfect images and more importantly, enjoyment!

The image is very sharp and crisp and the colours appear natural.

The dark areas of water seem to be pixelated (when viewed large) and I wonder if this was a side effect of trying to lighten the shadows, or maybe its just part of the effect that you wanted to achieve?

Although you mentioned that the image was taken in shadow, the flower itself appears very bright, and consequently there doesn't seem to be any discernable detail in the petals. Again forgive me, as this may also be just the effect that you wanted to achieve?

The composition is ncely offset with pleasing proportions contained therein.

Cheers my friend!

Alf
