Please view large. Please comment on this image from the iconic

Zabriskie Point at Death Valley National Park. I quickly learned that

capturing desired images does not happen easily, if at all, in this

expansive park where light is everything and camera angles and

views are close to unlimited. This park requires many visits to get it

right. This may be the spot for wannabe photographers with their

tripods. Thanks for your comments and critiques. Larry

Hi, Larry,  it's classic painting looks like, the great layers of the color, best balance between shadows & light, exquisite composition are just amazing, very effective & artistic!      Best regards

Richard,  Thanks for your visit and comment.  Nature laid out the carpet for this one; what I did was take a stab at capturing it.  The textures and varying light in Death Valley are amazing.  I look forward to viewing your images as well.  Happy spring.   Larry

Larry, this is a wonderful picture viewed large.  I love how the shadow simply lies across the valley--and how the mountains rise again in the light on the other side.

Wonderful photo! The timing is perfect, and I love the contrast between light and shadow and the balanced interplay between foreground and background.
